    Ikebana is a traditional Japanese art of flower arranging that has developed over many centuries. The word "ikebana" literally means "the art of flowers." Ikebana is more than just flower arranging, it is an art form that aims to express simplicity, harmony, and natural beauty. Ikebana is also used as a means of meditation and expressing a spiritual connection with nature.

    Kenzans are metal plates with needles, pins, or spikes that secure flowers, leaves, and branches in arrangements. The needles hold the plants in place and allow for various flower arrangements to be created. The kenzan is then placed in a container with water, which is often transparent or very open, so the stems and other parts of the plant stand out besides the flowers. In the winter season, dried flowers can be used in ikebana, or one can create an ikebana-inspired Christmas decoration.

    Maintenance

    Toolbox and kenzan do not require any special maintenance. Rinse the kenzan with water after use. Remove dirt from the base and between the needles. Dry and store in a place where it will not fall, out of the reach of children.

    The Okubo scissors are made of steel with a higher carbon content, so it is necessary to care for the blades. After work, always clean and keep the scissors dry. Regularly apply oil, let it dry, and finish drying. You can use our offered maintenance kit.
