    Ikebana is a traditional Japanese art of flower arrangement, which has evolved over many centuries. The word "ikebana" literally means "the art of flowers". Ikebana is more than just flower arranging; it is an art form that strives to express simplicity, harmony, and natural beauty. Ikebana is also used as a form of meditation and an expression of spiritual connection with nature.

    Kenzans are metal plates with pins or spikes that secure flowers, leaves, and branches in arrangements. The pins hold the plants in place and allow various flower arrangements. The kenzan is then placed in a water container, which is often transparent or very open, so that both the flowers and stems and other parts of the plants stand out. In winter, dried flowers can be used for ikebana, or an ikebana-inspired Christmas decoration can be created.

    Manufacturer

    The company Toyo Steel is the first firm in the world to develop the technology for manufacturing metal toolboxes from a single piece of steel. Their products have received the "Good Design Award" and "Long Life Design Award" and have been popular since 1969.

    Sakagen, based in Sanjo, Japan, has been producing world-renowned florist scissors for over a century. Since its founding in 1903, the company has specialized in producing high-quality tools made using traditional techniques and state-of-the-art equipment.

    Ishizaki Kenzan is located in the city of Sanjo in Niigata Prefecture. The stainless steel kenzans are handmade here - the pins are inserted one by one into a plate with small holes, which is then placed into a mold and filled with molten steel. Ishizaki Kenzan prides itself on the quality of its products, supplying them worldwide.

    Maintenance

    The toolbox and kenzan do not require any special maintenance. After use, wash the kenzan with water. Remove dirt from the base and between the pins. Dry it and store it in a place where it will not fall, out of reach of children.

    The scissors are made of steel with a higher carbon content, so it is necessary to care for the blades. Always clean them after work and keep them dry. Regularly oil them, let them dry, and wipe them. For care, you can use camellia oil or our offered maintenance set.
