    Ikebana Essentials Bundle - Classic Black

    Bundle contains the two most important tools for preparing ikebana - kenzan and florist scissors, which are stored in a practical all-metal box. When purchasing this bundle, you get the tools 10% cheaper than when buying individually.

    Ikebana is a traditional Japanese flower arranging art that has evolved over many centuries. The word "ikebana" literally means "art of flowers". Ikebana is more than just flower arranging; it is an art form that seeks to express simplicity, harmony, and natural beauty. Ikebana is also used as a way of meditation and expressing a spiritual bond with nature.

    Kenzans are metal plates with needles, pins, or spikes that secure flowers, leaves, and branches in arrangements. The needles hold the plants in place and allow for creating various flower arrangements. The kenzan is subsequently placed in a container with water, which is often transparent or very open, so that not only the flowers stand out but also the stems and other parts of the plants. In the winter season, dried flowers can also be used for ikebana, or you can create a Christmas decoration inspired by ikebana.

    Manufacturer

    The company Toyo Steel is the first company in the world to develop the technology to make metal toolboxes from a single piece of steel. Their products have received the "Good Design Award" and "Long Life Design Award" and have been popular since 1969.

    Tsurumaki Hamono is a respected and well-known brand in Japan specializing in the production of high-quality tools. The brand is famous for its precise and detailed craftsmanship. Their bonsai scissors are designed to ensure clean and precise cuts.

    Ishizaki Kenzan is based in the city of Sanjo, Niigata Prefecture. Stainless steel kenzans are handmade here - needles are inserted one by one into a plate with small holes, which is then placed into a mold and filled with molten steel. Ishizaki Kenzan prides itself on the quality of its products and supplies them worldwide.

    Care

    The toolbox and kenzan require no special maintenance. Wash the kenzan with water after use. Remove dirt from the base and between the needles. Dry and store in a place where it is not at risk of falling, out of reach of children.

    Okubo scissors are made of steel with a higher carbon content, so the blades need care. Always clean the scissors after work and keep them dry. Regularly oil, let dry, and finish drying. You can use our offered maintenance kit.
