Product detailed description

Scissors Mini Okubo Pink Toyama Hamono T-201 PG

Japanese floristic scissors designed for flower arranging in the style of Ikebana. Model T-201 PG is made from Japanese forged carbon steel with a pink finish, while the blades are made from durable stainless steel. This model has a compact mini size, with blades remaining the same length as the regular variant. They are precise and sharp, with a maximum cutting diameter of 8 mm, ideal for detailed work. Thanks to their sharpness, they allow for precise and clean cuts, which helps plants absorb water better. The scissors are versatile and suitable not only for Ikebana but also for general flower arranging, gardening, and bonsai work. The handles have a traditional Japanese loop design, providing a comfortable grip. The compact size is ideal for smaller hands, easy carrying, and outings into nature. Manufacturer

Produced by Toyama Hamono, a Japanese manufacturer based in the traditional blacksmithing district in Sanjo Niigata. Its history began in 1861, when it started producing cutlery products. Today, Toyama Hamono is an established brand and enjoys recognition not only on domestic grounds but also in western markets. Their current products still carry the tradition and craftsmanship of producing Japanese samurai swords. In production, they combine modern steel drawing technologies with manual sharpening, grinding, and finishing.

Material

SUS440C is a high-carbon Japanese stainless steel that achieves high hardness (up to 60 HRC) after hardening. As a result, the blades remain sharp for a long time while being highly resistant to wear. Unlike standard stainless steel, it offers excellent edge retention, and unlike the Aogami/Shirogami steel series, it does not rust, blacken, or develop a patina after use.

Note: Supplied in gift packaging. A protective cloth case is included in the package.

Maintenance

The shears are intended for cutting fresh branches and stems up to a diameter of 10 mm. It is recommended to cut softer and thinner branches to get acquainted with the tool before starting to cut larger and stronger branches. Cutting anything other than plants or improper use may cause damage. Do not cut hard objects such as wires, artificial and dried flowers, tough shrubs, or bamboo. Always clean the shears after use and keep them dry. Depending on the usage rate, regularly oil and let them dry. You can use camellia oil or our offered maintenance set. Oiling is also recommended if you plan to store them for an extended period.
