Do / Grow: Start with 10 Simple Vegetables - Alice Holden

"People who grow their own food are often highly knowledgeable. There are plenty of accomplished allotment holders and gardeners out there, but any of us can give it a go. Growing food is something we have done for thousands of years and we are all capable."

Have you ever wanted to grow your own plant, but don't have the time, space, or even know where to start? Alice Holden, one of the pioneers of growing in Britain, has spent her life working outdoors on a small and large scale - from kitchen gardens to commercial farms. In her first book, she will help you optimize the space and time you have available - even if you only have a windowsill box and 10 minutes a week. Do / Grow is a book that will inspire you to plant your first plants. Alice Holden will help you optimize the space and time you have available - even if you only have a windowsill box and 10 minutes a week. Additionally, you will learn what basic tools you need to get started, how and why to create a raised bed, how to prepare compost and keep the soil fertile, and how to increase your chances of success. The book also contains delicious recipes by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Pam Corbin, and others with whom Alice has collaborated over the years. The book Do Grow will inspire you to cultivate, harvest, and prepare your own meals from your edible garden.
