Stryi
STRYI is the first Ukrainian manufacturer of carving tools. The company was founded in 2009, and its name coincides with the name of the city it comes from - Stryi, in the western part of Ukraine. Their production is focused on carving and woodworking tools, thus following a tradition particularly prevalent in the vicinity of the Carpathian Mountains. In production, Stryi maintains full control over each phase, from template preparation and shaping to heat treatment, polishing, sharpening, and adjusting.
Material
The blade is made of carbon steel. It is high-quality carbon steel, durable and easy to sharpen. The handle is made of oak treated with linseed oil. A pleasant natural patina develops on both parts over time with use.
Maintenance
Steel with a higher carbon content offers higher sharpness and easier sharpening but requires more care than stainless steel. Keep the carbon steel blade clean and dry after use. For long-term storage, we recommend preserving it with suitable methods, such as camellia oil. Potential patina formation is a common occurrence with carbon steel and is not a material defect.
