    Curved Half-Round Chisel by Stryi

    The half-round chisel is particularly suitable for carving hard-to-reach areas and larger openings. The curve of the chisel allows for comfortable work without the handle touching the product. It is especially ideal for making wooden spoons, ladles, cups, or bowls. Suitable for both beginners and professionals. The blade is made from high-quality carbon steel, and the handle is oak with a protective layer of linseed oil. The chisel has a slightly larger handle, yet thanks to its shape, it fits both small and large hands. It is useful for working with both soft and hard wood. The tool is delivered in a cardboard box, sharpened and ready for use.

    Manufacturer

    Stryi is a Ukrainian manufacturer of carving tools. The company was founded in 2009, and its name matches the name of the city it originates from - Stryi, located in the western part of Ukraine. Their production focuses on carving and woodworking tools, continuing a tradition maintained especially around the Carpathian Mountains. In production, Stryi maintains full control over each phase, from template preparation and shaping to heat treatment, polishing, sharpening, and adjusting.

    Material

    The blade is made from carbon steel. It is high-quality carbon steel, durable and easily sharpened. The handle is made from oak treated with linseed oil. A pleasant natural patina develops on both parts with use and over years.

    Maintenance

    Steel with a higher carbon content offers greater sharpness and easier sharpening but requires more care compared to stainless steel. Keep the carbon steel blade clean and dry after use. For longer storage, we recommend preserving with suitable oil, such as camellia oil. The potential formation of patina is a common phenomenon with carbon steel and is not a material defect.
