    Shimomura Stainless Steel Peeler

    Preparing ingredients before cooking involves small, repeated tasks. The curved blade of the Shimomura peeler naturally follows the rounded shape of potatoes, carrots, or cucumbers, allowing the blade to glide smoothly over the surface without unnecessarily cutting into the flesh. Its low weight and lightweight body make smooth movement in the palm easier, even when processing larger quantities of vegetables.

    About the manufacturer

    The Japanese company Shimomura Industrial is based in the traditional knife-making region of Tsubame-Sanjo in Niigata Prefecture. The original blacksmith's workshop, founded in 1874, gradually developed into a specialist manufacturer of kitchen knives, graters, and stainless steel utensils. In its own workshop, the company oversees the entire process, from tool design and sharpening steel blades to processing plastic components and handles.

    Materials and maintenance

    The peeler is made of 18-8 stainless steel.


    After use, rinse the peeler immediately with warm water and a mild detergent, then dry it thoroughly. Do not leave it immersed in water for extended periods and do not use abrasive scouring pads, which could damage the steel surface.

    Good to know

    The side spikes are used for quickly removing blemishes and eyes from potatoes without having to switch tools. Take extra care around the blade when handling and cleaning the peeler. Keep out of reach of children.
