    Inspiring Ikebana - Ilse Beunen

    Ikebana artist Ilse Beunen reveals her sources of inspiration and ways to translate them into floral patterns. The book includes more than 40 step-by-step designs. Inspiring Ikebana is a continuation of the book Exploring Ikebana. Throughout her career, Ilse has been inspired by many different things and, like all artists, constantly seeks inspiration to create something new and innovative. After writing an extensive introduction to the ancient Japanese art of flower arranging, she reveals several sources of inspiration in this new book: nature, the four seasons, holidays, vases and containers, artificial material, art, and emotions. More than 40 breathtaking ikebana creations in both traditional and modern styles are richly illustrated with detailed photographs of the creative process step by step, making it easy to follow and achieve great results.

    Author

    Ilse Beunen lived in Japan from 1989 to 2000, where she studied Japanese garden design and ikebana. After returning to Belgium, she founded her own ikebana school in Antwerp. She has served as the president of the Belgian Sogetsu Azalea study group and received the prestigious Akane Teshigahara foreign award on the occasion of the 90th anniversary. Through social media, she works diligently to teach and raise awareness of ikebana around the world.
