Universal garden shears from the Japanese brand Toyama Hamono. A basic piece in the portfolio, handcrafted and still made using traditional techniques that have persisted for over 150 years.

The shears are robust, offering a pleasant back pull when cutting, and feature a massive ratchet lock. The blade is made of high-quality stainless steel, ensuring precise cutting and easy maintenance. They are specially designed for cutting raw twigs and stems, ideal for plant and bonsai care, cutting flowers, and pruning smaller branches up to a diameter of 15 mm.

Each piece is hand-forged and sharpened using traditional methods. The full steel model T-22 has a beautiful raw look with traces of grinding, polishing, and various scratches. It offers a more massive steel handle.

Produced by Toyama Hamono, a Japanese manufacturer based in the traditional blacksmith district of Sanjo Niigata. Its history began in 1861 when it started producing cutlery products. Today, Toyama Hamono is an established brand and enjoys recognition not only in its homeland but also in western markets. Their current products still carry the tradition and art of producing samurai Japanese swords. In production, they combine modern steel drawing manufacturing technologies with hand sharpening, grinding, and final finishing.

Maintenance

The shears are intended for cutting fresh branches and stems up to a diameter of 15 mm. It is recommended to cut softer and thinner branches to familiarize yourself with the tool before cutting larger and thicker branches.
Cutting anything other than plants or their improper use may cause damage. Do not cut hard objects such as wires, artificial and dried flowers, hard bushes, or bamboo.

Always clean the shears after work and keep them dry. Depending on the usage, regularly oil them, allow them to air dry and finish drying them. You can use camellia oil or our offered maintenance set. Oiling is also recommended if you plan to store them for a longer period.
