    Whisk Sori Yanagi

    Preparing airy batter, whipping cream, or making a light foam relies on a constant supply of air into the mixed ingredients. The Sori Yanagi stainless steel whisk uses a dense network of thin, flexible wires that effectively aerate the ingredients and speed up the entire whisking process. The ergonomically shaped handle provides excellent control over movement and reduces wrist fatigue, even when working with denser ingredients for longer periods.

    About the Manufacturer

    Sori Yanagi (1915–2011), a prominent figure in post-war Japanese design, became renowned for combining Western industrial manufacturing with elements of traditional Japanese crafts. His work ranges from furniture and toys to subway stations. The kitchenware and cutlery designed by Yanagi have been manufactured since 1955 by Nihon Yoshokki in the city of Tsubame, one of Japan's traditional metalworking hubs.

    Materials and maintenance

    The whisk is made of 18-8 stainless steel and features an elastomer handle (heat-resistant up to 130 °C) and a connector made of ABS plastic (resistant up to 80 °C). 

     

    We recommend hand washing with a soft sponge, without using wire scouring pads or abrasive cleaning products.

    Good to Know

    The matte rubberized elastomer surface provides a firm grip even when working with wet or greasy hands. To preserve the flexibility of the plastic parts, hand washing only is recommended.

    Sori Yanagi, známý tvorbou nadčasového designu a uživatelsky přívětivých nástrojů pro kuchyň a domácnost, je považován za jednoho z nejvlivnějších produktových designérů a vůdčích osobností poválečného průmyslového designu v Japonsku. Kromě nábytku a výrobků pro domácnost navrhoval také hračky, motocykly a dokonce i stanice metra. Jeho návrhy často propojují jednoduchou praktičnost a možnosti západního průmyslového designu s prvky a technikami japonských řemeslných tradic. Jeho překližkovou stoličku Butterfly Stool dnes vyrábí společnost Vitra. Většinu kuchyňského a stolního nádobí vyrábí společnost Nihon Yoshokki Co., Ltd. v japonském městě Tsubame v prefektuře Niigata, které je centrem výroby příborů a oceli.
