    About the manufacturer

    Sori Yanagi (1915–2011), a prominent figure in post-war Japanese design, became renowned for combining Western industrial manufacturing with elements of traditional Japanese crafts. His work ranges from furniture and toys to subway stations. The kitchenware and cutlery designed by Yanagi have been manufactured since 1955 by Nihon Yoshokki in the city of Tsubame, one of Japan's traditional metalworking hubs.

    It is dishwasher safe. To preserve the steel’s surface, avoid using scouring pads and abrasive cleaning products.

    The bowl is fully dimensionally compatible with the 190 mm Sori Yanagi strainer, into which it fits precisely, leaving space between the bases for liquid to drain.

    Sori Yanagi, známý tvorbou nadčasového designu a uživatelsky přívětivých nástrojů pro kuchyň a domácnost, je považován za jednoho z nejvlivnějších produktových designérů a vůdčích osobností poválečného průmyslového designu v Japonsku. Kromě nábytku a výrobků pro domácnost navrhoval také hračky, motocykly a dokonce i stanice metra. Jeho návrhy často propojují jednoduchou praktičnost a možnosti západního průmyslového designu s prvky a technikami japonských řemeslných tradic. Jeho překližkovou stoličku Butterfly Stool dnes vyrábí společnost Vitra.
