    Tailor Scissors Shirogami Diawood Red

    These tailor scissors are made in Sanjo, Japan, specially forged from Shirogami #1 high carbon steel, a modern interpretation of traditional tamahagane used for sword making. They offer precise and smooth cutting and long-lasting sharpness. The brass screw does not stick or rust and allows easy disassembly for sharpening. These scissors combine functionality with beautiful traditional design and rank among the best tools of their kind.

    Material

    Shirogami White Steel is a carbon steel with only a very small amount of impurities. Forging can achieve exceptionally sharp blades that are also easy to sharpen. The screw is brass.

    Maintenance

    Read on our blog tips on how to ensure the longest life for your scissors. The scissors can be easily disassembled and sharpened. Use a wet sharpening stone for sharpening. The carbon steel blade needs to be regularly oiled, for example with camellia oil. Between uses, it's best to wrap the scissors in a piece of cloth or paper, or alternatively, store them in the original packaging.
