Detailed information

Product detailed description

Beautiful and practical boards from the Morinoki series by Shizu Hamono are ideal for both everyday cutting and serving. Made from solid Japanese elm with distinctive grain, they offer excellent durability and long lifespan. The surface is treated only with natural oil to preserve the natural structure of the wood and ensure safety during use. The beveled edges allow easy lifting from the table and when flipped, the board turns into an elegant serving tray.

They complement the Morinoki series, which emphasizes simplicity, functionality, and natural materials. This line is suitable for cooks of all levels and includes universal knives, specialized knives for soft and hard cheeses, and a pizza cutter.

The boards are available in three sizes – smaller square ones for cutting and serving cheeses, bread, and fruits, medium rectangular ones for everyday use, and large square ones that comfortably fit a smaller pizza.

Shizu Hamono

Shizu Hamono is a family company founded in 1980, continuing the rich tradition of knife-making craft in the city of Seki in Gifu Prefecture, Japan. Proud of their heritage, their name is inspired by the master craftsman Saburo Sizu from the Edo period. Shizu is committed to producing knives that meet the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. Their original series Yuri, Yamato, and Morinoki are designed with an emphasis on ease of use and comfort at work. They put great effort into production and believe that their knives help people fully enjoy cooking.

Material

Japanese elm treated with natural walnut oil.

Note: The board is delivered in an original cardboard box.

Maintenance

Do not leave the board soaked in water – the wood may blacken or start to crack. After use, wash and thoroughly dry it. Do not put it in the dishwasher and do not expose it to long-term direct sunlight.
If the board warps, moisten it with water, place it curved side down on a flat surface, weigh it down, and let it rest overnight.
Over time, you can restore the oil layer with walnut or other food-grade oil.

SHIZU-HAMONO_BRAND-SLIM
