Detailed information

Product detailed description

Japanese floristic scissors designed for flower arranging in the Ikebana style.

Model T-201 PG is made from Japanese forged carbon steel with a pink finish, while the blades are made from durable stainless steel. This model has a compact mini size, while the blades remain the same length as the regular variant. They are precise and sharp, with a maximum cutting diameter of 8 mm, ideal for detailed work. Due to their sharpness, they allow for a precise and clean cut, which helps plants absorb water better. The scissors are versatile - suitable not only for Ikebana but also for general flower arranging, gardening, and working with bonsai.

The handles have a traditional Japanese loop design, providing a comfortable grip. The compact size is ideal for smaller hands, easy to carry even on nature trips. These multipurpose scissors are also a great choice for beginners.

Toyama Hamono

Produced by Toyama Hamono, a Japanese manufacturer based in the traditional blacksmith district in Sanjo Niigata. Their history began in 1861, when they started producing cutlery products. Today, Toyama Hamono is an established brand and is recognized not only domestically but also in Western markets. Their current products still carry the tradition and art of manufacturing samurai Japanese swords. In production, they combine modern steel drawing manufacturing technologies with hand sharpening, grinding, and final finishing.

Material

The scissors are made of Japanese forged carbon steel with a pink surface finish, while the blades are made of durable stainless steel. The bright pink color will fade with repeated use and change to a pale gradient that overlaps with the original iron color.

Note: Supplied in gift packaging. A fabric protective case is included in the package.

Maintenance

The scissors are designed for cutting fresh plants and flowers with a stem diameter of up to 8 mm.
Cutting anything other than plants or their improper use may cause damage. Do not cut hard objects, such as wires, artificial and dried flowers, hard shrubs, or bamboo.

Steel with a higher carbon content requires careful maintenance. Always clean the scissors after work and keep them dry. Depending on usage, regularly coat them with oil, let dry, and finish drying. You can use camellia oil or our offered maintenance kit. Oiling is also recommended when planning to store them for a longer period.
