    French Work Shirt Le Laboureur 

    The French work shirt, which Le Laboureur has been producing for over 60 years, has become an iconic garment with a proven and thoughtful design. It is a traditional straight cut with loose sleeves, three external pockets, and one internal breast pocket. Le Laboureur builds on its tradition and makes the history of the French working class accessible through its garments. The work shirts and jackets are made in their family factory in Digoin and offer a wide range of colors and materials. Originally worn by agricultural and industrial workers, today they are synonymous with functional style and are ready to become a daily companion at work and beyond. They are a great outer garment, which is wide enough for layering but not too bulky on its own. In winter, they can fit under a larger jacket or coat. You can use the pockets for tools, as well as for a wallet, phone, diary, or gloves. The shirt in Marine shade has a dark blue color with black buttons. It is made of 100% cotton twill of high density, which is soft, breathable, and easy to maintain. There is a large embroidered label sewn on the internal pocket and one spare button.

    The company was founded in the 1950s by a young Italian emigrant Primo Zélanti. Since its inception, it has been based in the French town of Digoin in Burgundy. Le Laboureur means "plowman" in translation and its production still focuses on two main areas - workwear and traditional costumes of its region. The main aim of Le Laboureur is quality and worker protection, but it is not afraid to add bright colors or interesting functional details to proven cuts. Since 2010, they have also been regularly collaborating with designer Junya Watanabe on collections for the Japanese brand Comme des Garçons.

    Material and care

    100% cotton twill - 340 g/m2.

    Regardless of the material, twill fabrics are strong fabrics that do not lose their shape and last long. Twill made from cotton is valued for its softness, breathability, and easy maintenance. Garments made from 100% cotton twill can be worn all year round because the fabric is breathable and at the same time insulating, making it comfortable in both hot and cold weather. It is also easy to care for, as it can be machine washed and dried at low temperatures without deforming or fading.

    To preserve the fabric and colors for as long as possible, it is recommended to clean only the soiled areas and wash at lower temperatures, a maximum of 40°C. Fortunately, work jackets also suit an aged appearance, which they acquire after many washes.

    The listed dimensions are in centimeters. The shirt has a slightly oversized fit. We recommend ordering the same size you usually wear for shirts or coats.
