    Lily Adler Garden Hoe

    Soil in a garden bed needs to be repeatedly loosened, broken up and prepared for further work throughout the season. The Lily Adler hoe combines a wide working section with two tines that allow you to loosen the soil and work between plants. The manufacturer designed it as a universal garden hoe, particularly suitable for drier and sandy soils. The short handle allows you to work close up in garden or raised beds.

    About the manufacturer

    Adler is a German brand of gardening and forestry tools with a history dating back to 1919. The company was founded as Josef Schmitt's village forge in Wiesental and today concentrates its production in Waghäusel. Under one roof, it combines the forging of metal heads with the production of wooden handles. The family business is now run by the fourth generation of the Schmitt family.

    Material and care

    The hoe head is made of C45 carbon steel, which is treated with a temporary protective coating. The handle is made of FSC®-certified European ash and features a non-slip coating.


    After use, remove soil and plant debris from the hoe and dry the metal part. Before storing it for an extended period, the steel head can be lightly treated with protective oil. Store the tool in a dry place. The working edges can be restored with a sharpening stone as needed; avoid overheating the steel during sharpening.

    What you should know

    Use the hoe for working with soil, substrates and compost. It is not intended for prying up heavy rocks or cutting through roots in rocky soil, as this may cause the pivot pin to become misaligned or damage the wooden handle. Keep a safe distance from others while working, and do not use the tool if the handle or the head connection is damaged. Keep out of the reach of children.
