    Handmade Japanese Saw Hishika Aya

    Japanese handmade saw. Designed mainly for softer types of wood and horizontal cutting. The very narrow saw blade is made of steel with excellent sharpness and durability, set into a wooden handle with a Japanese kanji motif. The folding mechanism has a locking safety catch. Ideal for pruning fruit trees and shrubs in the garden and outdoor activities.

    Manufacturer

    Hishika Industry, a Japanese tool workshop, was founded after World War II. Since its inception, it has focused on the production of hand tools for carpenters, gardeners, foresters, and other professionals working with wood, or in landscaping gardens, parks, or open landscapes. The production of saws is done manually, and piece by piece they still pass through the hands of Japanese blacksmiths and sharpeners today.

    Material

    The saw blade made from steel offers extreme sharpness, hardness, and durability. This allows for achieving a very precise and smooth cut. At the same time, assurance and experience with using Japanese saws is required. The narrow blade is prone to breaking if improperly used. The handle is also handmade, using light softer wood to better absorb vibrations during work.

    Maintenance

    After work, it's good to clean the saw (especially the area of the teeth and around the pivot screw). Keep it dry. Occasionally coat with oil.

    Note: The saw blade is prone to breaking if improperly used. The saw cuts best with an even and horizontal pull. Excessive side pressure or bending leads to damage. It's recommended to cut dry wood. This is a professional tool. The warranty does not cover saw breakage.

    Hishika jsou japonské ručně vyráběné pily pocházející z města Miki. Opět jde o lokální specifickou produkci, která stojí na dlouhé tradici fungujících kovářských dílen, nožířů a obchodníků. Původní pily mají čepele v několika variantách tvrdosti, zuby se zhotovovaly a ukláněly ručně, kus po kusu. Podobně detailní práce probíhala i při vsazování do rukojeti a ovinování přírodními materiály. Dnes se produkce více přibližuje potřebám a nárokům pro západní trhy. Výroba kombinuje tovární polotovary, finalizace však nadále zůstává v rukách samotných japonských dělníků.

    Hishika vyrábí japonské zahradní pily a pilky pro truhláře a řezbáře.
