Detailed information

Product detailed description

Gardening Shears Sakagen Japan P-180

Gardening shears Sakagen are sharp, lightweight, and durable. Their ergonomic, slightly curved shape minimizes fatigue and reduces wrist strain, allowing for comfortable long-term use. The extremely sharp blades made of carbon steel are coated with a thin layer of fluoropolymer, which reduces friction, prevents sticking, and protects against corrosion. The result is a clean and precise cut that makes it easier for flowers to absorb water. The lightweight ergonomic handles fit perfectly into both smaller and larger hands, ensuring maximum comfort during work. The spring mechanism with a smooth safety lock, which can be easily operated with a finger, allows for safe carrying in a pocket or bag without a case. The shears are suitable for cutting flowers and pruning branches. They effortlessly handle stems and branches up to 10 mm thick. Primarily designed for right-handed users.

Manufacturer

Sakagen, based in Sanjo, Japan, has been making world-renowned floral shears for over a century. The company was founded in 1903 and specializes in producing high-quality tools that combine traditional craftsmanship with modern technologies. Its shears for ikebana and bonsai have gained recognition worldwide and contribute to the preservation of Japanese culture. With a focus on quality and aesthetics, it continues to develop products that meet the high expectations of customers.

Material

The blades are made from carbon steel and coated with a fluoropolymer layer, which helps reduce friction when cutting, facilitates cleaning, and partially protects against corrosion. The handles are made from TPE (thermoplastic elastomer), making them soft and comfortable to hold, yet resistant to wear.

Note: Supplied in original packaging.

Maintenance

The steel contains a higher carbon content, which means it is more susceptible to corrosion. Therefore, it is important to regularly care for the blades, especially the sharpest exposed part. After each use, clean and dry the shears thoroughly. To protect the steel, we recommend coating the blade with a thin layer of oil after each use or before longer storage - ideally camellia or mineral oil. You can also use our offered maintenance kit.
