Author

Jason Hickel is an economic anthropologist, Fulbright scholar, and member of the Royal Society of Arts. He hails from Eswatini (Swaziland) and for many years worked with migrant workers in South Africa, writing about exploitation and political resistance during the apartheid era. He is the author of three books, the latest of which is The Divide: A Brief Guide to Global Inequality and Its Solutions. He regularly writes for the Guardian, Al Jazeera, and Foreign Policy, serves as an advisor to the Green New Deal for Europe, and is a member of the Lancet Commission on Reparations and Redistributive Justice.
