    French Work Shirt Le Laboureur 

    The French work shirt, which Le Laboureur has been manufacturing for over 60 years, has become an iconic garment with a proven and thoughtful design. It features a traditional straight cut with loose sleeves, three external pockets, and one internal chest pocket. Le Laboureur relies on its tradition and makes the history of the French working class accessible through its garments. The work shirts and jackets are manufactured in their family-run factory in Digoin, offering a wide range of colors and materials. Originally worn by agricultural and industrial workers, today they are synonymous with functional style and are ready to become a daily companion both at work and beyond. They are a great outer garment, wide enough for layering, yet not too bulky on their own. In winter, they can fit under a larger jacket or coat. You can use the pockets for tools, as well as for a wallet, phone, planner, or gloves. The shirt in Gris shade has a dark gray color and gray buttons. It is made from 100% cotton twill of high weight, which is soft, breathable, and easy to maintain. The internal pocket features a large embroidered label and an extra button.

    Manufacturer

    The company was founded in the 1950s by a young Italian emigrant Primo Zélanti. Since its inception, it has been based in the French town of Digoin in Burgundy. Le Laboureur translates to "plowman" and its production still focuses on two main areas - workwear and traditional garments of its region. The main goal of Le Laboureur is quality and protection of workers, while not shying away from adding vibrant colors or interesting functional details to proven cuts. Since 2010, they have also been regularly collaborating with designer Junya Watanabe on collections for the Japanese brand Comme des Garçons.

    Material and Care

    100% cotton twill - 340 g/m2.

    Twill weave fabrics are inherently strong fabrics that hold their shape and last long. Cotton twill is valued for its softness, breathability, and easy maintenance. Garments made from 100% cotton twill can be worn year-round because the fabric is breathable and provides insulation, making it pleasant in both hot and cold weather. It is also easy to care for, as it can be machine washed and dried at low temperatures without deformation or fading.

    For the longest preservation of fabric and colors, it is recommended to clean only soiled areas and wash at lower temperatures, a maximum of 40°C. Fortunately, work jackets also suit the lived-in look they acquire after many washes.

    The following dimensions are in centimeters. The shirt has a slightly oversized fit. We recommend ordering the same size you usually wear for shirts or coats.
