    French Work Shirt Le Laboureur

    The French work shirt, which Le Laboureur has been producing for over 60 years, has become an iconic garment with a proven and thoughtful design. It features a traditional straight cut with loose sleeves, three external pockets, and one internal breast pocket. Le Laboureur builds on its tradition and, through its garments, makes accessible the history of the French working class. The work shirts and jackets are made in its family factory in Digoin and offer a wide range of colors and materials. Shirts originally worn by agricultural and industrial workers are now synonymous with functional style and are ready to become an everyday companion at work and beyond. They are excellent outerwear, wide enough for layering, but not too bulky on their own. In winter, they can fit under a larger jacket or coat. The pockets can be used for tools, as well as a wallet, phone, diary, or gloves. The Azur shade shirt has a bright blue color and contrasting red buttons. It is made from a blend of cotton and polyester, with cotton making the fabric soft and breathable and polyester adding durability, wrinkle resistance, and maintaining shape and size. The inner pocket features a large embroidered label and an extra button.

    Manufacturer

    The company was founded in the 1950s by a young Italian emigrant, Primo Zélanti. Since its inception, it has been based in the French town of Digoin in Burgundy. Le Laboureur translates to "ploughman," and its production still focuses on two main areas - workwear and traditional garments of its region. Le Laboureur's primary goal is quality and worker protection, but it is not afraid to add vibrant colors or interesting functional details to proven cuts. Since 2010, they have also regularly collaborated with designer Junya Watanabe on collections for the Japanese brand Comme des Garçons.

    Material and care

    Twill - 60% cotton, 40% polyester.

    Twill is a durable and long-lasting fabric. The blend of cotton and polyester gives the fabric a combination of beneficial properties. Cotton makes the fabric soft and breathable, while polyester adds durability and wrinkle resistance. Polyester is also resistant to shrinkage, allowing the fabric to retain its shape and size even after many washes.

    For the longest preservation of fabric and colors, it is recommended to clean only stained areas and wash at lower temperatures, not exceeding 40°C. Fortunately, work jackets look good with a worn-in appearance achieved after many washes.

    The dimensions listed are in centimeters. The shirt has a slightly oversized cut. We recommend ordering the same size as you usually wear in shirts or coats.
