    Leather Insole for Toyo Steel Tool Boxes

    Storing metal tools, precision measuring instruments or small items directly on the steel bottom of the box can lead to mutual abrasion, noisy rolling of the contents and damage to the painted surface. The IS series leather insole fits the bottom of Toyo Steel boxes precisely. Unlike conventional foam padding, it has an elegant appearance, absorbs impacts and protects both the stored items and the painted surface of the box from scratches.

    Toyo Steel has been manufacturing steel tool boxes in Osaka, Japan, since 1969. The company was the first in the world to develop a method for producing seamless steel tool boxes from a single sheet of steel. Its products have received both the Good Design Award and the Long Life Design Award.

    Materials and maintenance

    The insert is made of pressed recycled leather / bonded leather (60% leather fibers, 40% latex resin and oils) from the German manufacturer Salamander. The material is made by processing leather scraps bonded with a resin binder, allowing it to retain the structure, strength and natural ability to absorb moisture of genuine leather, while developing a subtle patina over time. Small darker areas or slight color variations may occur on the surface; these are a natural part of the manufacturing process.


    Do not use cream-based products or cleaners intended for genuine leather, as they could cause stains. If the insert becomes wet, allow it to air-dry freely at room temperature.

    Good to Know
