    Enameled Garden Shovel Asano Mokkousho 

    The large garden shovel from the Japanese brand Asano Mokkousho perfectly complements the small balcony set. The enameled steel head is set into a handle made of Japanese beech, which grows at higher altitudes in the surrounding landscape of the Niigata region. The shovel is ideal for caring for houseplants, herbs, or vegetables grown in the garden or on the balcony of an urban apartment.

    Manufacturer

    Both design and manufacturing occur exclusively in Japan, in the traditional industrial region of Sanjo specializing in metalwork and wood processing. Asano Mokkousho was established in 1950 by a young farmer, Teisuke Asano, and his wife Sakae Sasagawa, daughter of a Tokyo industrialist. The company's portfolio is almost exclusively focused on small hand tools for gardeners, small-scale farmers, and agricultural workers. Today, Asano exports to Australia, the USA, Canada, and Western Europe.

    Material

    The metal parts are made of stainless steel and coated with a protective layer of enamel. The handle uses wood from Japanese beech, which grows at higher altitudes in the surrounding landscape of the Niigata region.
