    Vintage Pencil Set by Viarco - Edition 272

    Viarco pencils, manufactured in a family factory, are crafted using traditional methods and high-quality materials. These packages are a reissue of representative Viarco products from the 1940s to the 1960s  of the 20th century, revived to tell the story of the brand and its country, which sees the representation of its identity in the simplicity of these objects. Edition 272 contains 12 round blue pencils with purple graphite with added water-soluble ink. The pencils follow the classic copying pencils of the 19th century but with an improved formula free of toxic substances. The purple dye in the pencil's core allows the transfer of written text or a drawn picture onto thin, wet paper. The sliding box and pencils are made in the Viarco design of the 1950s and 1960s.

    Manufacturer

    Viarco is a fourth-generation family business. It is located in São João da Madeira near Porto and was founded in 1907; to this day, it remains the only pencil factory in Portugal. It produces pencils and sketching materials based on mixtures of graphite, carbon, and binders, which are still considered the highest quality.

    Viarco je rodinný podnik čtvrté generace. Nachází se v São João da Madeira poblíž Porta a byl založen v roce 1907, dodnes zůstavá jedinou továrnou na tužky v Portugalsku. Vyrábí tužky a skicovací materiály na bázi směsí grafitu, uhlíku a pojiv, které jsou dodnes považovány za ty nejkvalitnější. K jejich výrobě používá tradiční postupy a kvalitní materiály, cedrové dřevo na výrobu pochází z ověřených a certifikovaných zdrojů (PEFC, FSC®). Viarco se také aktivně věnuje společenskému rozvoji svého regionu a organizuje edukativní programy pro děti, umělecké rezidence a muzeologické výstavy. Věří, že tužka je vynikající nástroj, se kterým všichni začínáme cykly učení - nezbytný pro psaný, matematický či hudební jazyk nebo plastické vyjadřování. Jako pravděpodobně nejmenší továrna na výrobu tužek na světě, vnímá důležitost  jednoduchých předmětů každodennosti jako reprezentaci vlastní identity.
