    Swedish rope: Hemp, Sisal, Flax

    The set of natural strings from Swedish ropes includes three skeins of strings. Hemp is a popular material as it is a rapidly growing and renewable resource, also biodegradable. Hemp rope is robust, durable, and resists UV radiation, making it suitable for outdoor use. Sisal, another natural fiber. It comes from agave leaves and is known for its strength and durability. Sisal ropes are also resistant to sunlight and saltwater, making them suitable for marine ropes. Flax ropes are lightweight and flexible, yet strong and durable. Flax ropes are used for decorative purposes and also for various other applications.

    V roce 1889 založil Knut Westerberg svoji firmu jako "Knut Westerberg Repslagare". V roce 1918 převzal P. Janssons Repslageri v Norrköpingu. Dříve vyráběli pouze z přírodních vláken jako konopí a bavlna, ale po 2. světové válce začali používat polyamidová a polyesterová vlákna. Společnost úzce spolupracovala s textilním průmyslem v Norrköpingu, aby měla dostatek bavlny a vytvořila nové lano z polyesterových vláken. V roce 1988 se ujal vedení firmy čtvrtá generace Westerbergů a v roce 1996 byly postaveny nové sklady, kanceláře a obchod. Firma stále roste a v roce 2000 přidala nové výrobní zařízení a stroje. V roce 2017 převzala vedení společnosti již pátá generace Westerbergů.
