    Iris Hantverk Rolling Pin

    The rolling pin inspired by Scandinavian minimalism is made of untreated beech wood sourced from sustainable forests. This practical kitchen tool is ideal for rolling and lifting various kinds of dough and marzipan treats. Thanks to the button handles, it is easy to hold and allows for easy rolling of the dough to the desired thickness.

    Manufacturer

    The Swedish company Iris Hantverk was founded in 1906 and its main focus is traditional production of various types of brushes and brooms, including home, kitchen, bathroom, and decorative. What makes the company exceptional is the combination of quality materials and craftsmanship combined with an inclusive approach employing visually impaired craftsmen. Iris Hantverk now employs 17 people. The core of the company is its own brush production in the Enskede district in the southern part of Stockholm.

    Untreated beech wood with FSC 100% certification. 

    Maintenance

    The rolling pin needs to be washed by hand and then wiped dry. Never wash in a dishwasher or leave it soaked in the sink. You can also treat the wood with oil. Apply a sufficient amount of food-grade oil, ideally cold-pressed linseed oil, but cooking oil will also do the job. Repeat the treatment several times until the surface no longer absorbs oil (about 3-5 times). This treatment should then be done occasionally throughout the life of the rolling pin. When the surface starts to appear worn after several years of use, take fine sandpaper and lightly sand the surface. Then don't forget to re-oil it.

    Iris Hantverk je švédská firma specializující se na výrobu různých druhů kartáčů a štětců. Firma byla založena v roce 1906 a její hlavní zaměření spočívá v tradiční výrobě kartáčů a štětců různých typů, včetně domácích, kuchyňských, koupelnových a dekoračních. To, co firmu činí výjimečnou, je kombinace kvalitních materiálů a řemeslné práce spojená s inkluzivním přístupem, který zaměstnává zrakově postižené řemeslníky. V Iris Hantverk pracuje nyní 17 zaměstnanců. Výroba vázaných kartáčů na adrese Sandsborgsvägen, Enskede je srdcem výroby. 6 zrakově postižených řemeslníků zde z různých kultur vyrábí kartáče podle staré švédské tradice. Spolupracují též se zrakově postiženými řemeslníky v Estonsku, kteří stejně jako oni mají hluboké kořeny v hnutí pro zrakově postižené. Všechny kartáče mají exkluzivní design a jsou většinou vyrobeny z přírodních materiálů. Firma kladný důraz na inkluzi a podporu zrakově postižených řemeslníků. Tato filozofie má hluboké kořeny v hnutí pro zrakově postižené a je součástí dědictví a tradice Iris Hantverk.
