    Viarco Pencil Jacket Genuine Leather Case 

    The Pencil Jacket by the Portuguese brand Viarco is a playful yet practical leather case for pencils, which transforms into a stand when unfolded. Designed in collaboration with traditional leather goods manufacturer Belcinto and made from high-quality vegetable-tanned leather. This method involves processing animal hides using natural tannins from plants (e.g., tree bark, leaves) instead of chemicals like chrome. This process is more time-consuming, but the resulting leather is durable, eco-friendly, and acquires a unique patina over time. The colorful soft leather is complemented by a zipper and metal snaps. The closed case resembles a suit and tie, while in stand form it turns into more of a jacket with a zipper. The package includes three classic HB pencils from the Viarco vintage edition.

    Manufacturer

    Viarco is a fourth-generation family business. It is located in São João da Madeira near Porto and was founded in 1907. To this day, it remains the only pencil factory in Portugal. It manufactures pencils and sketch materials based on mixes of graphite, carbon, and binders, which are still considered the highest quality.

    Viarco je rodinný podnik čtvrté generace. Nachází se v São João da Madeira poblíž Porta a byl založen v roce 1907, dodnes zůstavá jedinou továrnou na tužky v Portugalsku. Vyrábí tužky a skicovací materiály na bázi směsí grafitu, uhlíku a pojiv, které jsou dodnes považovány za ty nejkvalitnější. K jejich výrobě používá tradiční postupy a kvalitní materiály, cedrové dřevo na výrobu pochází z ověřených a certifikovaných zdrojů (PEFC, FSC®). Viarco se také aktivně věnuje společenskému rozvoji svého regionu a organizuje edukativní programy pro děti, umělecké rezidence a muzeologické výstavy. Věří, že tužka je vynikající nástroj, se kterým všichni začínáme cykly učení - nezbytný pro psaný, matematický či hudební jazyk nebo plastické vyjadřování. Jako pravděpodobně nejmenší továrna na výrobu tužek na světě, vnímá důležitost  jednoduchých předmětů každodennosti jako reprezentaci vlastní identity.
