    French Work Shirt Le Laboureur 

    The French work shirt, produced by Le Laboureur for more than 60 years, has become an iconic garment with a proven and thoughtful design. It features a traditional straight cut with loose sleeves, three exterior pockets, and one interior chest pocket. Le Laboureur builds on its tradition and makes the history of the French working class accessible through its garments. The work shirts and jackets are made in its family-owned factory in Digoin and offer a wide range of colors and materials. Originally worn by agricultural and industrial workers, the shirts are now synonymous with functional style and are ready to become a daily companion at work and beyond. They are great outerwear, wide enough for layering, but not too bulky on their own. In winter, they can fit under a larger jacket or coat. You can use the pockets for tools, but also for a wallet, phone, diary, or gloves. The shirt in the shade Prairie ("meadow") is a bright green color with contrasting white buttons. It is made from a blend of cotton and polyester, with cotton making the fabric soft and breathable, and polyester giving it durability, resisting wrinkles, and maintaining shape and size. A large embroidered label and one spare button are sewn onto the inner pocket.

    Manufacturer

    The company was founded in the 1950s by a young Italian emigrant Primo Zélanti. From its inception, it has been based in the French town of Digoin in Burgundy. Le Laboureur translates to "ploughman" and its production still focuses on two main areas - workwear and traditional garments of its region. The main goal of Le Laboureur is quality and worker protection, yet it is not afraid to add bright colors or interesting functional details to tried-and-tested designs. Since 2010, they have also regularly collaborated with designer Junya Watanabe on collections for the Japanese brand Comme des Garçons.

    Material

    Twill - 60% cotton, 40% polyester.

    Twill is a durable and long-lasting fabric. A blend of cotton and polyester gives the fabric a combination of beneficial properties. Cotton makes the fabric soft and breathable, while polyester provides durability and crease resistance. Polyester is also resistant to shrinkage, allowing the fabric to maintain its shape and size even after many washes.

    To preserve the fabric and colors for as long as possible, it is recommended to clean only soiled areas and wash at lower temperatures, maximum 40 °C. Fortunately, work jackets also suit a worn-in look that they acquire after many washes.

    The stated dimensions are in centimeters. The shirt has a slightly oversized cut. We recommend ordering the same size you usually wear in shirts or coats.
