    French Work Shirt Le Laboureur 

    The French work shirt, which Le Laboureur has been producing for over 60 years, has become an iconic garment with a proven and thoughtful design. It features a traditional straight cut with loose sleeves, three external pockets, and one internal chest pocket. Le Laboureur builds on its tradition and through its garments makes the history of the French working class accessible. They manufacture work shirts and jackets in their family factory in Digoin and offer a wide range of colors and materials. Shirts originally worn by agricultural and industrial workers today symbolize functional style and are ready to become an everyday companion at work and beyond. They are an excellent outer garment, wide enough for layering but not too bulky on their own. In winter, they can fit under a larger jacket or coat. The pockets can be used for tools, but also for a wallet, phone, planner, or gloves. The shirt in Vert shade has a petrol color and slightly darker buttons of the same color. It is made from 100% cotton twill of high weight, which is soft, breathable, and easy to maintain. It has a large embroidered label sewn onto the inner pocket and a spare button.

    Manufacturer

    The company was founded in the 1950s by a young Italian emigrant Primo Zélanti. Since its inception, it has been based in the French town of Digoin in Burgundy. Le Laboureur means "the ploughman" and its production is still focused on two main areas - work clothes and traditional clothing of its region. The main goal of Le Laboureur is quality and worker protection, but they are not afraid to add vibrant colors or interesting functional details to proven cuts. Since 2010, they have also regularly collaborated with designer Junya Watanabe on collections for the Japanese brand Comme des Garçons.

    Material and Maintenance

    100% cotton twill - 340 g/m2.

    Fabrics in twill weave are sturdy fabrics that do not lose shape and last long, regardless of the material. Cotton twill is valued for its softness, breathability, and easy maintenance. Garments made from 100% cotton twill can be worn all year round because the fabric is breathable and insulates, making it comfortable in both hot and cold weather. It is also easy to maintain since it can be machine washed and dried at low temperatures without deforming or fading.

    To preserve the fabric and colors as long as possible, it is recommended to clean only dirty areas and wash at lower temperatures, up to a maximum of 40°C. Fortunately, work shirts also suit the worn look they acquire after many washes.

    The listed dimensions are in centimeters. The shirt has a slightly oversized cut. We recommend ordering the same size you usually wear in shirts or coats.
