    French Work Shirt Le Laboureur 

    The French work shirt, which has been crafted by Le Laboureur for over 60 years, has become an iconic garment with a proven and thoughtful design. It features a traditional straight cut with loose sleeves, three external pockets, and one internal chest pocket. Le Laboureur builds on its tradition and, through its garments, makes the history of the French working class accessible. The work shirts and jackets are produced in their family factory in Digoin and offer a wide range of colors and materials. Originally worn by agricultural and industrial workers, today they are synonymous with functional style and are ready to become an everyday companion at work and beyond. They are an excellent outer garment, spacious enough for layering, yet not too bulky on their own. In winter, they can fit under a larger jacket or coat. The pockets can be used for tools, but also for a wallet, phone, planner, or gloves. The shirt in the shade Marron has a dark brown color and brown buttons. It is made from 100% cotton twill of high density, which is soft, breathable, and easy to maintain. It features a large embroidered label on the inside pocket and one spare button.

    Manufacturer

    The company was founded in the 1950s by a young Italian emigrant Primo Zélanti. Since its inception, it has been based in the French town of Digoin in Burgundy. Le Laboureur translates to "plowman" and its production still focuses on two main areas - workwear and traditional garments of its region. The main goal of Le Laboureur is quality and protection of workers, yet it is not afraid to add vibrant colors or interesting functional details to proven cuts. Since 2010, they have also been collaborating regularly with designer Junya Watanabe on collections for the Japanese brand Comme des Garçons.

    Material and Care

    100% cotton twill - 340 g/m2.

    Regardless of the material, twill fabrics are firm fabrics that do not lose shape and last long. Twill made from cotton is valued for its softness, breathability, and easy maintenance. Garments made from 100% cotton twill can be worn year-round as the fabric is breathable yet insulating, making it comfortable in both hot and cold weather. It's also easy to maintain as it can be machine washed and dried at low temperatures without deforming or fading.

    For the longest preservation of fabric and colors, it is recommended to clean only stained areas and wash at lower temperatures, up to 40°C. Work jackets fortunately look good with a lived-in appearance gained after many washes.

    The given dimensions are in centimeters. The shirt has a slightly oversized fit. We recommend ordering the same size as you usually wear in shirts or coats.
