    French Work Shirt Le Laboureur 

    The French work shirt, which Le Laboureur has been producing for over 60 years, has become an iconic garment with a proven and thoughtful design. It features a traditional straight cut with loose sleeves, three outer pockets, and one inner chest pocket. Le Laboureur builds on its tradition and makes the history of the French working class accessible through its clothing. Work shirts and jackets are produced in their family factory in Digoin and offer a wide range of colors and materials. Originally worn by agricultural and industrial workers, these shirts are now synonymous with functional style and are ready to become everyday companions both at work and outside. They are an excellent outer garment that is wide enough for layering but not too bulky on its own. In winter, they can fit under a larger jacket or coat. The pockets can be used for tools but also for a wallet, phone, diary, or gloves. The shirt in Beige shade is beige to light brown and has slightly darker brown buttons. It is made from canvas blended with cotton and linen, which is durable, comfortable, and lightweight, wrinkling much less than 100% linen. Cotton is soft and gentle, suitable for sensitive skin. Linen is thermoregulatory, hypoallergenic, and has very good moisture absorption -  perfect for summer. A large embroidered label and one spare button are sewn on the inner pocket.

    Producer

    The company was founded in the 1950s by a young Italian emigrant Primo Zélanti. Since its inception, it has been based in the French town of Digoin in Burgundy. Le Laboureur translates as "ploughman," and its production still focuses on two main areas - workwear and traditional clothing of its region. The main goal of Le Laboureur is quality and worker protection, but they are not afraid to add bright colors or interesting functional details to proven designs. Since 2010, they have also been regularly collaborating with designer Junya Watanabe on collections for the Japanese brand Comme des Garçons.

    Material and care

    Canvas - 67% cotton 33% linen.

    Linen is a natural fiber, and its production in France is among the leading in Europe. Growing linen is truly ecological because it does not require irrigation and occurs in naturally rainy areas. The canvas combines two natural raw materials, cotton and linen, which complement each other with their properties. Cotton is soft and gentle, therefore suitable for sensitive skin. Linen is thermoregulation, hypoallergenic, and very good at absorbing moisture. The linen used for this canvas is grown in France, and the weaving takes place in Belgium.

    For the longest-lasting preservation of the fabric and colors, it is recommended to clean only the soiled areas and wash at lower temperatures, up to 30 °C. The work shirts fortunately also suit an aged look, which they acquire after many washes.

    The given measurements are in centimeters. The shirt has a slightly oversized cut. We recommend ordering the same size you usually wear for shirts or jackets.
