    Značku Kobayashi Seikyo založil Kenji Kobayashi v roce 1939 v Tokyu, když začal vyrábět nejprve lékařské nástroje a chirurgické nůžky. Po konci druhé světové války se ale Kenji vrátil domů do města Sanjo. V domě svých rodičů si otevřel obchod a přeorientoval se na dnešní sortiment - tedy utility a zahradní nůžky.
