    Japanese Carpentry Hammer Osho 300g

    The Japanese carpentry hammer, also known as genno, is a traditional tool used by carpenters and joiners in Japan. Hammers for delicate work with chisels weigh around 225–375 g and have a distinctive design that sets them apart from hammers used in other parts of the world. The head of this hammer is made of high-qualitycarbon steel. On one side, it has an octagonal profile with a flat end, while on the other side it is oval with a slightly convex surface for kigoroshi - temporary compression of wood fibers to create an extremely tight and firm joint by subsequent expansion. The hammer's handle is made of white Japanese oak. The weight of 300 g is ideal for working with Japanese chisels, tapping, settling wood, and driving smaller nails.
