    Gents Saw with Beech Handle

    The Lynx 8" Gent Saw, made in England, features an 8-inch blade ideal for fine carpentry dovetail joints. It is specially designed for cutting wooden dovetail joints, which are frequently used in furniture making and carpentry work. The saw handle is made from durable beech wood. It is ergonomically designed to provide a comfortable and secure grip, allowing for precise work and control over the saw.

    Manufacturer

    Thomas Flinn is an English company from Sheffield with a history dating back to 1923. Today, the company is run by Katie Ellis, who leads it in the third generation after her father and grandfather, who started working for Thomas Flinn as an apprentice and sharpener after World War I. The saw brand PAX itself dates back to 1776, when it was a product of one of the largest steel manufacturers in all of England.

    Material

    Beech wood, brass. The blade is made from high-carbon steel, which is hardened and tempered, giving it excellent hardness and long life.

    Note: The saw is delivered in original packaging.

    Maintenance

    Wood ages beautifully when given attention. The beech wood handle should be treated occasionally with linseed oil - let it soak in, dry, and wipe off the excess. Brass details can be gently polished with a dry cloth, or a drop of camellia oil or WD-40. The blade teeth will maintain sharpness longest with gentle handling. Depending on the degree of wear, they can be sharpened with a fine file or entrusted to a professional. Store the saw in a dry place. After use, always wipe it down, oil it, and store it wrapped. Dryness, calmness, and attention are its best maintenance.
