    Product detailed description

    Catalan folding knife with a stainless steel blade and a handle plated with antler. The blade in the shape of a leaf, typical for the region, is very sharp and easy to sharpen. The knife has a Slip Joint type lock and a half-stop back spring, which facilitates opening and closing.

    This is a charming pocket knife that honors the style of the Pallarés brand. It is simple, attractive, and fits perfectly in the hand. It is thin, lightweight, yet robust and sturdy. Ideal for use in camping, in the garden, or generally at home or at work. Handmade production takes place in Catalonia in the Pallarès workshops.

    Pallarés Solsona 

    Knife-making in Solsona has a long tradition dating back to the 16th century. The company Pallarès, founded in 1917, is today the last witness of the famous knife-making industry in the town. The industry experienced its greatest boom in the 18th century, when there were 24 workshops in the town, which were part of the guild of Saint Eligius, the patron saint of knife-makers. The company Pallarès was founded by brothers Lluís and Carles Pallarès Canal, who soon became famous for their quality knives, which they sold in the Solsonés region, as well as in the provinces of Barcelona and Girona.

    Material

    The blade is made of stainless steel. The handle is made from Pyrenean deer antler, carefully hand-polished. 

    Note: Packaged in Pallarés gift packaging.
    The color and pattern of the antler may vary from piece to piece.  

    A leather sheath by Pallarés of size 12 cm fits perfectly with the knife.

    Maintenance

    The knife requires no special maintenance. For regular sharpening, we recommend a natural sharpening stone from Pallarés Solsona. The wet method on a whetstone can also be used, for example, you can find the Japanese sharpening stone KING. at our store.

    PALLARES_BRAND-SLIM

    Nožířství v Solsoně má dlouhou tradici sahající až do 16. století. Firma Pallarès, založená v roce 1917, je dnes posledním svědkem slavného průmyslu výroby nožů ve městě. Firma Pallarès byla založena bratry Lluísem a Carlesem Pallarèsem Canalem, kteří se brzy proslavili kvalitními noži, jež prodávali v regionu Solsonés, a také v provinciích Barcelona a Girona. Na začátku nového století převzala vedení firmy třetí generace. Modernizace a adaptace na nové technologie pokračovaly a trh se rozšířil i do Francie, Švýcarska, Německa a několika jihoamerických zemí.
