    Brass Corrector for Kenzan by Ishizaki Kenzan

    Kenzans are metal plates with needles, pins, or spikes that secure flowers, leaves, and branches in arrangements. The needles hold the plants in place and allow for creating various flower arrangements. The kenzan corrector combines two functions – the steel needle serves to clean plant residues, dirt, and dust between the kenzan needles, while the brass tube is intended for straightening or adjusting bent needles. The type of attachment can be easily changed by unscrewing and turning. Additionally, the corrector is decorated with a small bell.

    Ishizaki Kenzan is located in the city of Sanjo in Niigata Prefecture. The blacksmithing tradition of the city dates back to the year 1635, and to this day it remains an important center for blacksmith factories and hardware businesses. Stainless steel kenzans are handmade here - the needles are inserted one by one into a plate with small holes, which is then placed into a mold and filled with molten steel. Depending on the type of kenzan, this can involve hundreds of needles, requiring persistence and focus. Ishizaki Kenzan prides itself on the quality of its products and supplies them worldwide, and their kenzans are popular among both professional ikebana artists and amateurs.
