    Book Cleaning Brush Redecker

    Caring for precious volumes as well as an ordinary home library calls for the gentlest approach possible. The Redecker book cleaning brush removes accumulated dust without the risk of damaging the book edges, illustrations or delicate bindings. The densely packed, light-coloured goat hair glides gently over the surface of books and easily sweeps dust from the top edges and the spine itself. The smoothly sanded handle made of oiled pear wood provides a secure grip and feels pleasant to the touch.

    Materials and maintenance

    Oil-treated pear wood and natural goat hair.


    Clean the bristles with lukewarm water and a little mild soap or shampoo. After washing, gently squeeze out the water and leave to dry freely at room temperature with the bristles facing downwards. Do not immerse the wooden handle in water or dry it near heat sources.

    Good to know

    When cleaning the edges of a book, work from the spine towards the sides to prevent dirt from getting between the pages.

    Redecker je výrobce přírodních kartáčů, štětců a mnoha dalších výrobků pro péči o tělo a domácnost se sídlem v německém Versmoldu. Historie společnosti sahá až do roku 1935, kdy její zakladatel Friedel Redecker začal ručně vyrábět první kartáče. Dnes podnik vede již třetí generace Redeckerů a postupně se z prodeje na místních trzích rozšířil na dodávky do různých částí světa. Jejich cílem je vytvářet udržitelné, praktické a trvanlivé nástroje. Důležitá je pro ně také vizuální stránka designu - ačkoli sledují především funkci, jejich věci jsou i krásné a dělají lidem radost při každodenním používání. Nejčastěji používanými materiály jsou místně dostupné dřeviny, jako je buk, dub, hrušeň a jasan. Dřevo zpracovávají neošetřené, případně ho olejují nebo voskují. K jejich výrobkům neodmyslitelně patří také různé druhy štětin a vláken, zejména kančí, koňské a kozí chlupy a rostlinná vlákna, jako je tampico, arenga, sisal a rýžová sláma.
