Manufacturer

Adler is a traditional German brand with a 100-year history. Its foundations were laid in 1919 by Josef Schmitt when he opened a small blacksmith shop in the village of Wiesental. To this day, all axes are stamped with the JSW brand as a nod to its origin. Adler is the holder of several certifications in the field of origin, safety, and ecological production. The manufacturing plant is located in southern Germany near the city of Heidelberg and is now run by the fourth generation of the Schmitt family.

Material

The head is forged exclusively from tested carbon steels (C60 or C45), extra sharp and coated with a rust-resistant layer. The wooden handle is made from American hickory or ash.

Note: Includes a leather protective head cover. Delivered in a cardboard box filled with sawdust.

Maintenance

No special maintenance. Store the axe in a dry place. After use or before long-term storage, apply oil to the axe head. The manufacturer recommends Ballistol, as it can be used to treat the head, wooden handle, and leather case. For sharpening, use a sharpening stone or puck. Do not heat the edge, e.g., with an electric grinding wheel. If the axe head loosens or the handle is damaged, always replace the entire handle.
